Pot holes in combination with heavy vehicles cause whole buildings to shake

Reported in the Pothole category anonymously at 12:28, Sat 14 December 2019

Sent to TfL 2 minutes later. TfL ref: FMS1888020.

Dear TFL, I've already contacted the council of Islington multiple times but they claim that it's your jurisdiction.

There are multiple potholes/uneven surfaces on Rock street which is as you know is a major bus route. Also many other heavy vehicles are rerouted by our tiny street. When these fall into the potholes our whole building vibrates (easily felt on first and second floor). These happens at a frequency of around once per 5 minutes which is causing me stress (coming from an earthquake country) and our home physical damage (cracks forming on the plasterwork).

The street has been repaved recently (about 4 years ago), but with such heavy traffic it takes only a few months to warp the tarmac again.

I don't understand how someone decided to reroute a major route via a tiny street. The traffic during the day is unbelievable and the motor noise during day and night exhausting. Furthermore, TFL crews working at the station think it's ok to park their vans under our windows and slam the van doors multiple times between 2 and 4 pm.

Please acknowledge that you have received this. I am determined to go to lengths to make life on Rock street tolerable, but I would rather start with a conversation.

Best Regards, George Konstantinou
