Lanes fenced off for no reason

Reported in the Roadworks category anonymously at 11:56, Mon 3 February 2020

Sent to TfL 4 minutes later. TfL ref: FMS1975975.

At about 1630 on Sunday 2 February a lane was fenced off towards the north end of Kew Bridge northbound. There was nothing in the fenced off section. Cars had to get into one lane, and this caused enormous and unnecessary delays. I returned along Brentford High Street at about 1830 and there was only one lane available for all eastbound traffic, whether going to Chiswick roundabout or turning right over Kew Bridge. Even the buses had to get into this one lane. And there was nothing at all in the fenced off area. Again, massive delays for huge numbers of motorists, and unnecessary pollution (which I thought we were trying to avoid). Please don't cause unnecessary delays and misery to so many.
