This junction but especially the traffic light on the pedestrian island in Brownswood Road is repeatedly damaged by vehicles turning westwards from Green Lanes, probably both southwards and northwards as there is street furniture and boundary fence damage repeatedly over several years. I have reported this to TfL on several occasions.

Reported in the Damage - pole leaning / equipment detached from pole/facing the wrong direction category anonymously at 12:44, Mon 3 February 2020

Sent to TfL 3 minutes later. TfL ref: FMS1976163.

The traffic light is top-left of the photo, 90 degree twisted. Browswood Road is one lane width and a bus lane. The white lorry impacted the white car from the two lanes of Green Lanes and several pedestrians and car drivers behind the incident remonstrated with the lorry driver. Luckily there was no medical injury. This junction has buses from Lordship Lane turning southwards into Green Lanes and in danger of head on collision with lorries and the like in the middle lane of Green Lanes. Yet the pavements are wider than necessary. It is a matter for EVERYBODY to be involved, TfL, Hackney Council, local residents, passersby. We don't wash our hands because children at risk of death at this location are not my job, not my pay scale, I'm not on police duty. This health and safety risk has been here for years and years. A drawing on a plan, a profitable contract for a service provider, a repeated reporting of the damage is not rewarded to unpaid pensioners. Then the website is un-navigable, just put a simple phone number at the top. Don't hide it way down the web page, the audio menu system, press 1, press 5, press anything, get through on an inaudible line, responder hardly speaks clearly the Queen's English and the message received by email is totally nonsense. Thankfully James spoke clearly and took note and I trust the matter will be resolved - the traffic light at least. Road works, MP Dianne Abbot, over to you.
