  • Last night, the night of Weds 10th Feb, a lorry with some road menders did something to the extremely loud manhole cover, possibly intending to quieten the noise, but it has made no difference, it is still just as loud. Nearly all cars hit it, and it bangs twice like gunshot every time. It is keeping me awake, and I should think everyone else in earshot because it is so loud.

  • The manhole cover is still not fixed and is getting worse every day. A tarmac patch was recently made but this was totally insufficient as the whole steel section is lose so it needs much more than a quick coat of tarmac.

  • The noisy loose manhole cover opposite the N end of Palewell Park now also has potholes in the tarmac on it, which is dangerous to cyclists.
