Blocked drain on the edge of the kerb. a127 outside 165 south arterial road
Reported in the Blocked drain category anonymously at 13:02, Friday 28 February 2020
Sent to TfL 13 minutes later. TfL ref: FMS2028154.
This has been an ongoing issued since 15 January. The drain is smashed in on the top of the kerb stopping water from draining properly especially when there's heavy rain which cause a flood into the drive of the property. This needs to be looked into before it gets any worse with the weather being horrible at this current time as well.
Unfortunately we have not been able to fix this within the timescale that we originally told you. This is in progress and we hope to have it fixed soon. Should you need anything else or have any questions please contact customer services on 0343 222 1234

It is now June 10th 2020 This problem with the drain outside my property has been ongoing for many years and I do mean years. The drain has never let the water on the road flow away properly. At the beginning of this year the drain was smashedin and I reported it then. I have now noticed this week that the top of the drain has had tarmac/asphalt put on it to cover and i presume act as a drain cover and it is slightly overhanging and therefore not allowing the water to flow into it properly. The amount of water that this drain has to cope with is extremely high, this being because we are in a dip and the water flows back from higher ground from further up the road to where I live and therefore the front of my property on a torrential downpour gets flooded. I have been asking for such a long time now for something to be done about the drain. Can somebody please do something about it!!!

I last posted a complaint regarding the drain outside my property on the A127 Southend Arterial Road on 10th June and it was not anonymously. I am nearer the junction of Ardleigh Green Road & Squirrels Heath Road and not as shown on your map that is attached to these ongoing reports . please check your maps. As stated in my report to tfl on the 10th the drain is still NOT fixed we have had numerous downpours where the water does NOT drain away because it is still blocked with tarmac and some sort of netting/cloth. I understand that these times are unusual but I live in the fear that the flooding outside my home will eventually get into my property. This has been reported so many times and nothing is done.
