Reported in the Manhole Cover - Damaged (rocking or noisy) category anonymously at 13:05, Thu 12 March 2020
Sent to TfL 5 minutes later. TfL ref: FMS2057812.
I work in Zelas Wine Bar at 216 Archway Road. Across the road there's currently a building site. When a double-decker bus goes over a manhole on the bus lane the whole shop here shakes and the wine bottles clings loudly. It sounds like there is a serious structural problem. It started more or less when the building site was open and they did some very deep excavation near the road. The manhole is about six-seven meters from where I am sitting inside the shop but the impact is felt quite a lot. Recently it's been getting worse. It feels like the whole building might collapse. I suggest that when you send someone to have a look they should come inside the shop and wait for a double-decker to pass. I don't think the manhole is the problem. It feels like there's a beam under the road which the bus presses down on and causes the opposite end to shake the shop up.
