Pedestrian crossing keeps changing to red every 20 seconds

Reported in the Stuck on red category anonymously at 11:02, Thursday 21 May 2020

Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS2123698.

You keep marking this issue as fixed, but it has not been. The pedestrian crossing keeps changing to red without anyone pressing the wait button. The noise is annoying for local residents and vehicles having to stop/start for no reason just adds to the air pollution. This has been ongoing since the start of the year and has not been fixed.

  • This is not fixed... please see attached images, I have included the seconds remaining on the video in these images. 31 seconds remaining, the the lights changed again when there was 8 seconds remaining, thats 23 seconds between changing. It is changing to green for around 20 seconds then going red again. there is no pedestrian traffic waiting or nearby, this is happening all day. It is causing a problem with the traffic flow and causing more emissions as all the vehicles need to stop start for no justified reason. Please fix this as a matter of urgency.

However if the issue remains, please can you either resubmit your report with some more information and a photo or you can contact our customer services team on 0343 222 1234". How can you not find any defects? Just stand next to the lights for a minute.
