Manhole still crumling after nearly a month

Reported in the Manhole Cover - Damaged (rocking or noisy) category anonymously at 13:35, Fri 5 June 2020

Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS2143456.

There is a manhole in the main street that when a bus or heavy vehicle goes over it, the same manhole it makes a terrible noise which we can feel it all within our bedroom nights and days. It require maybe some stabilisation to deaden the terrible noise. Thank you

  • Manhole is getting louder and causing serious noise issues, people are needing to adapt by using earplugs to sleep and avoid disturbance. Please look into this and fix asap.

  • This hasn’t been fixed still. The noise has increased and echoes through the flat every time a bus goes through the bus lane. On average this is 15 times an hour due to the bus route. To get any sleep I have to wear earplugs and even then can still hear the manhole through them. This has been an ongoing issue for over 6 months and is now affecting my mental health. Please respond as soon as possible.

  • Is there an update on this? It’s still broken and making a really loud sound through the flat.
