Edgware Road - not enough space

Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS2163331.
Comments: Dear Sir, Madam, During the London lockdown several barriers have been erected to give pedestrians oceans of space to walk. So much so that Edgware Road has now become a super narrow one lane road. As a cyclist I am pushed out of using this, it has become too dangerous with trucks, buses and cars hardly able to drive due to the narrow path. Having endured this for some weeks now it has been noted NOT ONE pedestrian has made use of the road, all walk on the generously proportioned pavement. Edgware Road is by no means the only place where this has occurred. The Government discouraged the nation from using public transport and to use cars. Is encouraging cycling however by endangering the safety of the cyclist the opposite is happening. Please take action and widen the path for cyclist to be able to safely use the road. Sincerely, cyclist Direction of Travel: towards Marble Arch Date of Travel: 18/06/2020 Time of Travel: 09:30 Location: 225 Edgware Rd, Paddington, London W2 1JU, UK

Sirs I concur with the earlier complainant. The series of narrow areas on the Edgware Road utilizing StreetSafe barriers has not been beneficial for the pedestrians at all. I drive twice daily through these bottlenecks. I have not seen one pedestrian using any section. Cyclists are forced to share the lane with drivers. Please send a team to count how many pedestrians swell out onto these temporary safety areas. NILL. Please remove them before cyclist is killed. Thank you. Alan Perrin
