Overlarge street tree
Reported in the Low hanging branches category anonymously at 11:54, Sun 21 June 2020
Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS2165596.
This plane tree was planted by yourselves several years ago outside 117 Latchmere Road as a replacement for a native pear damaged in a traffic accident. I live at 117 and expressed my concern at the time it was planted about it being the wrong species for this spot, as it would grow too large. This year it has really shot up, it is now taller than the adjacent houses, is projecting into the road and over my garden (blocking out light) and the lowest branches are also becoming a nuisance to pedestrians on the narrow pavement. It could be pollarded but frankly it would be better replaced with a more suitable tree variety. I love having a tree here, street trees are so important for the environment, but this is the wrong one for this position
Response from TfL still outstanding. The tree continues to grow, is nearly touching the upstairs window now; a low-hanging branch got snapped off by a passing vehicle or pedestrian within the last 24 hours and is now on the pavement.

Still no response from TfL on this, over a month after the initial report. Meanwhile the tree keeps growing and its lower branches also keep getting damaged by passing vehicles and pedestrians.
