Separate car journeys to that of cycle journeys during the day

Reported in the Streetspace Feedback category anonymously at 11:42, Fri 26 June 2020

Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS2173631.

A member of public suggested this on 26th May:

A very simple way to reduce London car use: Separate car times from bike times. Ie. Allow bikes on roads between 7.30 am and 9.30 am. Allow cars on road between 9.30 am and 4.30 PM.

Evening use: bikes 4.30 to 6.30. Cars 6.30 onwards.

These times can be adjusted if wished.

This will help cyclists enormously, and reduce accidents. It will reduce the necessity for using public transport, if cyclists feel absolutely safe.

It will allow people to choose whether to pedal in early, or drive in later. It will prioritise bike use.

It would be seen as fair and sensible. .
