Broken man hole cover in pavement causing grave risk to pedestrians

Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS2193249.

There’s a collapsed manhole cover in the pavement outside 50 Blackheath Road London SE10 8DZ directly opposite Catherine Grove. The broken cover is marked Elkington and, not being fenced off, is a grave risk to pedestrians. It needs URGENT ATTENTION.

  • Your update response may be a holding statement until you can assess the issue visually at the site. But, as I originally reported, this is safety critical. The broken manhole is in the middle of a heavily used pavement and the hole is completely unguarded. It must be of particular risk to those with visual impairment. The photograph that I have already submitted is from above but nevertheless shows that this is a major hazard to pedestrians. At the very least the hole needs some form of guarding.
