Tarmac damaged/missing around manhole cover causing significant noise
Reported in the Manhole Cover - Damaged (rocking or noisy) category anonymously at 20:37, Thu 16 July 2020
Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS2203948.
The tarmac around a manhole cover is very damaged / missing in parts. As a result, cars driving over the manhole generate a significant amount of extra noise (affecting neighbouring houses) as tyres hit the edge of the manhole cover. The manhole is on Trinity road, just opposite Nottingham Road.
I reported the issue in January 2020. At the time your teams did something to fix the problem. It helped for a while (the noise had reduced greatly) but the problem is now back as it was, if not worse.
Your report has been investigated by our team and this is not owned by Transport for London which means that we are not able to resolve the issue. We have contacted the owner to ask them to make the repairs and have made it safe in the meantime.
