Shared use cycle track blocked.

Reported in the Roadworks category anonymously at 18:03, Wednesday 29 July 2020

Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS2222077.

UKPN works were due to finish on 27/7/20 according to but they are still ongoing. There is no diversion route for people walking and cycling, although if it were provided it would be 800m which is not acceptable.

Lane 1 of the westbound A12 has been closed for lorry access, so presumably it could be used to provide a bypass around the works?

UKPN really should be issued with a S74 overrun FPN and be required to consider walking and cycling.

  • I'm sorry, you have this wrong. The works are still on site on the southern shared-use path on the A12 Colchester Road and there is currently a lane closed westbound on the A12 - the A12 is part of the TLRN. My photo is the view along the A12.

  • Good morning, following on from your update yesterday we have since arrange for one of our Inspectors to attend site. He has since provided our will more information regarding the works, at present there is a valid permit in place for these works under EC30098911234, our inspector has failed the site for inadequate provisions for pedestrians. We have spoken to UKPN and it is due to be jointed today with reinstatement to follow so all being well it should be cleared over the weekend. Thank you for taking the time to provide further information regarding UKPN's work site. Should you need anything else or have any questions please contact customer services on 0343 222 1234.
