2249193 surface water not clearing from road so overflows onto my property

Reported in the Flooding category anonymously at 23:29, Sat 19 September 2020

Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS2302858.

1). 2249193 Heavy rain causes flooding to my property. The surface water drains are either blocked or insufficient to control the water down the hill and it collects as a lake on the pavement outside my house and then spills over to cause another lake outside my front door, getting perilously close to my porch and air bricks. This has happened at least 4 times this year. it is not rain that falls on my land, but rain from the road.

  • 1.10.2020 It rained again last night and a huge lake accumulated on the pavement outside my house. Although it only breached a small amount onto my drive and did not reach my front door or air bricks this time, I am very concerned that heavy rain has been forecast again in the next few days. Please look into it. Didn't get photos because it was dark and raining.

  • The bus lane along Bromley Common has two conflicting signage At the beginning of the bus lane heading towards Bromley the usage sign says no access 7am to 10am Mon - Fri About half way along the bus lane and tucked into the trees is a new sign stating At All Times This needs urgent review an amendment as this road is a major artery and gets very congested two conflicting pieces of signage Is dangerous and unacceptable

  • 3.10.2020. As predicted, heavy rain last night caused the water which should be taken by the surface water drains, to be deposited at my front door, at least twice, once at about 8pm which eventually soaked into my drive, but was back again when I went to bed. Couldn't take photos because it was dark, but was back again when I went to bed about 11.30. This never used to happen after the surface drains were put in and maintained, but now happen on a regular basis. This morning it was evident from the tide mark of debris that the level had reached the airbricks. Please will you sort out this problem and stop saying that it is "fixed" it definately is not fixed.

  • 29/12/2020 Yet again your drains failed outside my house and water from the road poured down my drive and soaked into my foundations. This happened overnight on Dec.14th and Dec. 27th and the picture shows the tidemark of debris left by the lake outside my front door. Please can someone contact me to discuss what can be done about this problem to prevent further problems. Thank you.
