New pedestrian crossing too loud

Reported via mobile in the General Fault category anonymously at 14:12, Tuesday 6 October 2020

Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS2328353.

Hi. Please could you turn off the pedestrian crossing sound. During lockdown we had temporary lights here which you could barely hear. Unfortunately since the new lights were fitted the high pitched noise is becoming too much to bare. The lights are directly under our bedrooms/living rooms. It is there when you wake up (well it can wake you up as well at 6am even on a Sunday) and goes on all day long... The crossing itself once activated lasts for 10 seconds. It can be actived 3 times in one minute and that does happen a lot during rush hour. Then the traffic builds up quite heavily and then the cars start honking... Your house should be a place to relax and this has not been possible lately. 100 meters up the road there is a busy junction with few pedestrian crossings and none of them make a sound. Here between high block of flats the sound is so much worse. Please could this be sorted. Regards.
