Flooded road, possible blocked drain
Reported via desktop in the Flooding category anonymously at 10:08, Fri 23 October 2020
Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS2353830.
As soon as it rains this portion of the road completely floods (outside 186 - 188 New Cross Rd, between the bus stops and Pepys Rd). I believe there is a drain there but it's either blocked or partially blocked, as it usually takes a day to clear after rain. With every passing vehicle the entire footpath is drenched in a wave of water. This has been an issue for at least a month.

Within the last week, there was sustained rainfall. I checked the road and saw that the carriageway was fully flooded over two lanes.
This issue has not been addressed despite having been reported by several people over a long period. Although work was carried out recently further along (in Queen's Road), no work has taken place before the traffic lights in New Cross Road.
Furthermore, the manhole cover in this location is loose and rocks loudly when traffic passes over it.
PLEASE prioritize works to address the flooding/blocked drain and noisy manhole cover in this location.

This issue was reported to Lewisham Council in early February but they state that this is YOUR RESPONSIBILITY, not theirs.
Please could you make direct contact with Lewisham Council and decide who will address the issue. This is an important, and there is an ongoing danger to road users.

You claim that this problem is the responsibility of Lewisham Council, while Lewisham Council insists this is a TFL issue. Could you please sort this out between you so that this long-standing issue can finally be dealt with? As you can see from these new photos, the issue is an ongoing hazard for both traffic and pedestrians.
