Traffic light faulty on junstion of Waddon Road, Waddon New Road and Epsom Road
Reported via desktop in the Stuck on red category by Haydon Bambury at 17:28, Tue 17 November 2020
Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS2392709.
There is a problem with the traffic lights at the junction of Waddon Road, Waddon New Road and Epsom Road. When approaching from the east (past the Wine Spot convenience shop) the light remains red for as much as 15 minutes, with multiple cycles of traffic being allowed to proceed from the other three directions through the junction. The problem seems to be less severe if using the left hand lane (so as to proceed straight on to Epsom Road). If using the right hand lane (in order to proceed over the railway bridge on Waddon Road or to turn right on to Waddon New Road) the light stays red indefinitely. My theory is that the traffic sensor detecting traffic waiting to use the junction in the right hand lane must be faulty. This problem has been in place for weeks.
