Cavendish Road (near Englewood Road) has manhole in road which makes loud noise every time a car drives over it

Reported via mobile in the Manhole Cover - Damaged (rocking or noisy) category anonymously at 07:11, Monday 4 January 2021

Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS2459728.

On the road outside of 116/118/120 Cavendish Road. This issue had been raised previously and been ‘fixed’ but loud noise is back and keeping residents awake due to noise. Every time a car drives over it it makes a clanking noise and living on a main road means every 2 seconds. Please can this be fixed as soon as possible - thank you.

Updates

  • Previously fixed by putting asphalt over the manhole cover however that covering has now degraded and the manhole cover is rocking again. Needs a more long term fix.

State changed to: not TfL’s responsibility

  • Hi, we have tried reaching out to Thames. Someone did come to fix the manhole but they have done the wrong one (it is right next to it) so it is continuing to make a loud noise
