Pedestrian Cross keeps changing lights to red despite nobody there.

Reported via mobile in the General Fault category anonymously at 05:14, Friday 22 January 2021

Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS2494323.

Pedestrian Cross keeps changing lights to red despite no one been at the pedestrian crossing and pushing the crossing button to change. The lights appear to be pushing the button by themselves. The lights have been doing this for the last couple of days.

  • Been doing this for weeks now. When will it be fixed?

  • Lights still not fixed. Causing traffic build-up. Pedestrian crossing lights automatically reset , as if someone has pushed the button.

  • Still broken at about 21:30 on the 11th Feb. It’s a joke.

  • Still broken on Saturday morning, 12th Feb. The buttons seems to be jammed in so the wait sign is permanently illuminated. When is this going to get fixed?

  • Still broken, stopped at the lights again today and can see that it was changing again after I drove off despite no pedestrians being near the crossing. When will this get fixed as it causes delays near a very busy junction.

  • Was still broken last night. Lights are going to red every 35 seconds. This really isn’t needed as it is causing unnecessary delays with 6 sets of lights within about half a mile of each other on a main route into London, leading to the A22 and continuation of the A23 south. It needs to be fixed within the 28 days quoted, and needs upgrading to urgent. The additional emissions this is causing is a big problem.
