Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS2517038.

The manhole cover has broken and has sunken in exposing a sharp metal corner to traffic.

The tarmac surrounding this manhole has been patched up and repaired numerous times in the past few weeks but each time breaks again within a day or so. This has been an issue for several weeks.

It is a danger to road users and needs to be fixed and secured to the bracket immediately.

  • The man hole cover next to the kerb has completely sunk, leaving a large hole in the road. The only warning is a cone next to it. If a cyclist hits this it will throw them off their bike into fast flowing traffic, a potential serious accident. This manhole was repaired a few days ago, however there seemed to be no allowance for natural settling of the level that occurs with time and traffic weight. This has been a problem for ages, its dangerous to road users and a signficant noise disturbance. I live almost opposite and at night as lorries and the 219 and 319 bus drive over the depression in the road my building shakes! A permanent good quality repair is needed urgently.
