Reducing 2 lanes to 1 lane not necessary
Reported via desktop in the Roadworks category anonymously at 18:26, Wed 17 February 2021
Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS2553135.
The delays from the East are very long because the 2 lanes on A316 are reducing to 1 lane because of the Cadent roadworks on the Hospital Bridge Road roundabout. The lanes reduce to 1 and then nearer the roundabout there are 3 lanes anyway so why not direct the traffic to the 2 lanes that are still open? It would be a gentle curving of the 2 lanes to the left. I think with the correct signage it would be safe.

Dear TFL,
I still have not received an answer. The area is caotic, with emergency vehicles delayed and even my own medicine deliveries. The workman finish early and don't work at the weekends.
