Manhole cover on westbound carriageway rocking
Reported via mobile in the Manhole Cover - Damaged (rocking or noisy) category anonymously at 10:47, Tue 2 March 2021
Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS2581490.
Manhole cover outside 162 Stanstead Road is loose and rocks everytime a vehicle drives over it making loud noise. The surrounding tarmac is also uneven adding load noise from that too. This is a residential area and disturbs residents at night. Tarmac and ironwork need leveling and manhole cover repairing.
I have just observed (at 00:20hrs on 23rd March 2021) two contractors applying yet more tarmac to the worn tarmac on this manhole. As before, this does not fix the issue in the slightest. The manhole still rocks noisily and presumably dangerously with every car or larger vehicle which drives over it. For the past couple of months, the vibrations from this manhole are transmitting far more noticeably to the surrounding houses.
