Pavement overcrowding caused by new barrier

Reported via desktop in the Pavement Overcrowding category anonymously at 10:39, Tue 16 March 2021

Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS2612010.

I want to express my concern about a new aspect of the Cycleway works on Kew Bridge. I was crossing the bridge at about 9.30 this morning (16/3) when the workmen were erecting a new barrier along the pavement on the east side of the bridge, ie, the side opposite the pavement which is currently closed to pedestrians. The barrier leaves a narrow path of little more than one metre wide, along which ALL the pedestrians crossing Kew Bridge now have to walk. Since covid precautions tell us to socially distance by 2 metres, this cannot be safe. Please can something be done?

Kind regards

Mark Ivory 8 Waldeck Road London W4 3NP
