Cyclists forced onto pavement, residents hedges overgrown, carriageway not suitable for 2 lanes with amount of HGV and Buses.
This stretch of Archway Road A1 from where the cycle Lane stops all the way to the junction with Sheperds hill. There really isn’t the space for 2 lanes on the south bound. This is causing HGV and TFL busses to literally drive down the edge of the curb, encroaching on pedestrians wing mirrors within inches of people’s heads. There is also an issue with hedges overgrown onto pavement. Also the tight 2 lanes mean it is dangerous for cyclists and there is zero filtering space pushing cyclists onto the pavement creating a dangerous situation for everyone. Please this stretch is due to be resurfaced, please extend the cycle Lane markings down this entire stretch reducing it to one Lane which it is for the rest of the A1 Archway Road in busy pedestrian areas. This will give space for pedestrians to use full width of pavement and make cycling so much more accessible and calm the traffic and avoid HGV from having to straddle the centre Lane or be squeezed dangerously close to the curb pedestrians and cyclists. Thank you.
