Uneven paving slabs
Reported via desktop in the Pavement Defect (uneven surface / cracked paving slab) category anonymously at 11:39, Fri 9 April 2021
Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS2661864.
Walking up Glebe Way from Coney Hall to Station Road, West Wickham, there are any number of uneven paving slabs, some extremely dangerous. I've always been aware, but 4 weeks ago I tripped over an uneven paving slab in Station Road and broke my right elbow, banged my head and damaged my knee, and brought the matter to the attention of Bromley Council. I mentioned to them about Glebe Way and they said that this is under your jurisdiction. My recent accident has made me ultra-aware of the potential trip hazards in Glebe Way, and probably other pavements in the area, and I feel that you need to look into this. Although I am not a nervous person - and in fact like to do a lot of walking in the area, averaging maybe 5 miles on a walk - I am sure you can understand that breaking elbow in a similar situation has made me feel rather cautious about getting out and about, though I am forcing myself to do so. Bromley Council has not been helpful in relation to my accident, but I am hoping that you will give greater consideration to the matter I am raising with you. Many thanks.
