Overgrown trees and shrubs

Comments: Bromley council have asked me to pass this question to you: I have purchased a new house (Address) last year and have been completing renovations since. We are now working in the garden. The front of the house is on Gravel road but we have a rear gate from the garden, opening onto Hastings road opposite McDonald’s. Access from the gate onto the public footpath is 90% blocked by overgrown trees and shrubs. The previous owners of the property used the gate infrequently in recent years which we assume is the reason this has been unaddressed. We are not sure which department would handle this enquiry or indeed if we can simply trim/cut the bushes etc to clear access. Thank you for your help.
