Traffic light stuck on red

On April 19th, 2021 at approximately 11.40 pm, I was leaving Optima Park. I approached the red light to turn unto Thames Road to proceed to Erith. I was at the white line and after a few minutes, the lights did not change. There was no one behind me at the time, so I reversed and drove up again. There was no change. The passenger crossing remained on Green and so did the lights to my right for oncoming traffic. Now after 5-6 minutes, there was a queue forming behind me. I could not reverse safely to take another route and so I decided to cautiously proceed throught the red light, ensuring there was no oncoming traffic.
