Pavement works without notice

Reported via mobile in the Roadworks category anonymously at 21:17, Tue 27 April 2021

Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS2695061.

On the junction between dalebury road and trinity road there have been works on the pavement yesterday and today when we have not been informed of any. They came at 11.30pm last night and woke my household up with extremely loud banging, drilling, shouting etc. Because we had not been told of any works I had to go out and speak to the workers, which were not socially distancing or wearing masks, placing me at increased risk of coronavirus. They said they would be an hour. Now they are back (from 9pm this evening 27/04) electric sawing through the concrete. We havent been told and to be woken up 1 night and kept up the next night is unacceptable. We need to know what's happening and compensation for not being told, kept awake/woken up, and for being placed at increased risk of coronavirus. Cant tell you how frustrated and disappointed I am.

  • Thank you for taking the time to report this to us. It is much appreciated. The manager has sent on his sincere apologies and said that a letter drop would have been done prior to these works.

He will make sure going forward that all letter drops are completed and will make sure that all noisy works are complete by 11pm. Kind regards
