Massive lip where the new and old road meet after roadworks
Reported via desktop in the Roadworks category anonymously at 09:55, Fri 14 May 2021
Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS2725430.
Roadworks were carried out recently on the A217, stretching from where the pin is placed all the way up to Cheam Road.
The work was done fine in general, however, an absolutely massive lip was left on both sides of the road where the pin is placed. It's so deep that every time a large vehicle passes - which happens a lot on an A road - our whole house shakes now and we live several houses away from the actual road. This has never happened before and starting straight after the roadworks were finished and the road reopened. The impact is clearly correlated with the lip as the shaking occurs straight after a large bus or lorry passes the lip.
This needs to be properly smoothed out very soon, before our house and other's houses will suffer lasting damage to structures.
Thank you!

Quick update: I've added a photo. It is a bit hard to capture its depth, but when you stand next to it (or even a hundred yards away), you can clearly hear the impact of the cars on the bump.
I've placed the pin slightly off though, the lip is closer to Alma Crescent than Alberta Avenue, but you can easily tell where the new surface starts, should be easy to find.
Thanks!

Any update on this?
"aim to update on progress within 10 days"
That was over one month ago. The house is still shaking, especially when lorries are passing in the morning southbound and much faster than allowed (i.e. the direction in which there's no traffic camera).
Even just driving over the lip at the speed limit with a car is very noticeable.
Please have a look soon. Thanks

Thank you for taking the time to report this to us. It is much appreciated. You will be pleased to know that the joint in lane 1 is high. We propose to rectify this from the first construction joint to the next cut and seal joint which is circa 13m from the joint. This will leave the joint patterns as per the original design. We are currently in the process of scheduling the works permit to carry out the works.
