Hi, I have called a few times and am very worried about the safety risk to pedestrians, particularly children, caused by the fact that this pedestrian crossing continues to trigger every minute or so even when there are no pedestrians nearby. As a result road users, especially cyclists, are skipping the red light, which could cause an unseen pedestrian to be hit. This has been an issue for a few weeks now and needs to be fixed urgently please.
Thank you for taking the time to report this issue to us, we appreciate it. We have checked and the traffic lights here are working as intended. These traffic lights use a system called Green Person Authority which means that they are set to remain on the green signal for pedestrians until a vehicle approaches, they will then change automatically to give the green signal to vehicles. Once the vehicles have passed the signals they will change back to green for pedestrians.
