Wait light cancels itself without stopping traffic

This is the same issue reported in January - TfL ref: FMS2498733, which has not been fixed.

The pedestrian Wait light frequently cancels itself without having stopped the traffic, so the button has to be pushed again. Today the Wait light was illuminated for 5 minutes, before cancelling itself without stopping traffic, so I had to press it again and wait another 2 minutes before the lights changed to stop traffic.

Almost every time I use this crossing the button has to be pressed multiple times because the Wait light cancels itself without stopping traffic - sometimes I have to press the button 3 times because the Wait light keeps cancelling (this happens when crossing in either direction). I have witnessed many other people experiencing the same problem - patiently waiting for the lights to change without noticing that the Wait light has cancelled itself.

The timing of the lights is also erratic - sometimes it can take almost 5 minutes before the lights change to stop traffic, leading many people to run across the road in gaps in traffic rather than wait for the lights to eventually change.
