Problem with traffic sensors
Reported via desktop in the Stuck on red category anonymously at 11:33, Tue 13 July 2021
Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS2861146.
I wanted to report a fault with the traffic lights facing traffic that emerges Eastbound from England’s Lane at its eastern junction, flowing onto Haverstock Hill.
The issue is that the sensors are not picking up traffic waiting there on England’s Lane: the lights either remain on constant green on Haverstock Hill; or, if the light sequence is interrupted by the pedestrian crossing he activated, the green light only shows again on Haverstock Hill and not England’s Lane. I suspect that the sensor is blocked by overhanging tree branches or is placed in the wrong position.
As a result of this, traffic has been building up on England’s Lane and/or cars have been forced to drive through the red lights, into the path of oncoming traffic going up/down Haverstock Hill. This is potentially very dangerous so should be looked at as soon as possible.
