Loose manhole cover

Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS2900601.

Comments: There's a manhole cover outside Lewisham College on Lewisham Way which is loose and makes a double, loud metalic cracking sound each time a vehicle goes over it. It's irritating in the day but at night it's difficult to ignore and keeps me awake, and others I'm sure. Please could you do whatever needs to be done to make it fit more securely or replace it. Thanks.

If it is confirmed as a safety issue it will be made safe within two hours. If the manhole cover is owned by us, we will carry out a permanent repair at a later date. If it is owned by another company this will be passed to them for a permanent repair.   • My update is that nothing's changed in three weeks since the initial report of the defective manhole cover. This is creating sleeping problems for the residents of Lloyd Villas as well as constant cracking during the day. Please attend to effective repairs ASAP. Thanks
