Right turn only lane coned off?
Reported via desktop in the Roadworks category by Sarah Bright at 12:53, Tue 3 August 2021
Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS2911113.
Cones are needlessly closing of the only right turn only lane from Sidcup Road onto Westhourne Avenue. Only one lane turning right, one lane exit onto Westbourne Avenue. The needless lane closures at causing disruption to all vehicles. Vehicles attempting to change direction from the right-hand lane to left-hand lane as there is only space for one vehicle on approach. Drivers are force to turn right in the head only lane. As a driving examiner in the local area. I have witness numerous near misses when vehicles are attempting to change direction. Frustrated drivers cutting across the cones into the lane turning right. Drivers are turning from the wrong lane cutting across vehicles on the roundabout. Vehicles are forced to turn right from the middle lane signposted indicated as ahead only. Needless clones are causing delays tailing back all the to Sutcliffe Park.

Thank you for taking the time to report this to us. It is much appreciated. You will be pleased to know we have carried out a site inspection and Thames Water are dealing with emergency works the lane closures are for the Thames water emergency works. The lane closure at the approach and on the roundabout are there to slow down traffic and are in place to create a safety zone while the works are being carried out. Once the works are completed all traffic management will be removed. These are the only closures in place on Westhorne Avenue and not Sidcup road.
