Gas works causing chaos
There are gas works continuing on the A21 parallel with Broke Farm Drive, the works have constant temporary lights. This is causing absolute chaos along Broke Farm Drive as motorists are now using it as a cut through. Driving dangerously at ridiculous speeds ! This is causing severe disruption and congestion along Broke Farm Drive as the motorists attempt to beat the lights , both directions! The residents have to put up with this now as the lights are on all hours of the day and night. Motorists are abusive and aggressive when confronted . There needs to be some sort of no entry sign / no through road sign at the junction with Stonehouse Lane where they are pulling off A21 before someone has a bad accident or worse ! It’s causing misery for he people that live in Broke Farm Drive
UPDATE
The signage was kindly put at he end of Broke Farm Drive junction with Stonehouse Lane to help with the above. Unfortunately motorists are now Moving them !!! No one is taking any notice of the no entry signs, they are getting moved, the lights are now on the floor no doubt damaged. The road needs to be CLOSED from both ends and become ACCESS ONLY as suggested by a UKPN engineer controlling the lights. This needs to be sorted by tomorrow as at the weekend is gets pro dominantly worse!!

Thank you for taking the time to report this to us. It is much appreciated. Latest update. UKPN have had emergency works at this location and set up temporary lights. Unfortunately during their excavation they encountered gas and so had to hand over to SGN to trace and rectify an escape. This is still ongoing and I have spoken to both SGN and UKPN this morning for latest updates. SGN should be complete later today for the repair to the leaking main then will hand back to UPKN to continue. UKPN have a few days work left including reinstatement so realistically this will continue into the weekend. Regarding the safety issued raised below we immediately made UKPN aware of this issue once discovered and have instructed UKPN to close the entrance to Broke Farm Drive southbound fully to prevent the rat running parallel to the A21. Access is still maintained via the other end for residents. The temporary lights also as instructed by us are being manually controlled for the times 0700-1900 by UKPN.
