Waiting times for the pedestrian crossing signal remains dangerously long for pedestrians

Reported via mobile in the Pedestrian wait button not working category anonymously at 11:16, Monday 6 September 2021

Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS2982115.

Ongoing problem with the pelican crossing outside 553 lordship lane SE22 8LB. The wait for the pedestrian button to change the traffic lights can take 2 minutes. This is dangerously long and out of step with other similar crossings. I have not encountered another pelican crossing with such long wait times and therefore believe this must be an error. This leads to people crossing the A205 very busy road without using the crossing which is dangerous for pedestrians, cyclists and drivers. Please adjust the wait times for pedestrians in line with other crossings. Despite reporting this some time ago (2017) no action has been taken by TFL despite this being a simple fix. Hopefully you will take action this time. Thanks
