Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS2988525.

Pedestrian crossing at traffic lights was updated last week. Now there is a beeping noise from the signals which was not there before but is very audible in my home opposite. Please can you turn it off as it is like torture. Thank you

Updates

  • Hello, at the intersection of Addition Road and Holland Park Gardens, there is a new traffic crossing that has a 45 second cycle, that beeps extremely loudly, day and night, weekday and weekend. Within the 45 second cycle, it beeps 100 times, then stops, the beeps again, even if there is no one at the junction or crossing. The continuous cycling loud beeping sound is decreasing our quality of life, harming wellbeing and ability to relax in our garden, sleep, or work in my home office, or have our windows open. We hear it even when the windows are closed. Please 1) turn it off 2) only enable beeping if strictly required if there is a person crossing 3) if the beeping needs to occur then turn the volume down very significantly. 4) prevent beeping on early mornings, evenings and night-time. Thank you for your consideration and I would welcome a response within 5 business days.
