Road markings/signage for cyclists needs to be improved

Reported via desktop in the Worn out road markings category anonymously at 08:10, Thu 30 September 2021

Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS3033266.

Good afternoon, We have had several residents from 30-80 BURLINGTON LANE, W4 complaining that cyclists are using the pavement outside their properties instead of cycle path provided on the road. Unlike most of the rest of the A316, the pavement outside nos 30 to 80 Burlington Lane is not shared use and a cycle lane is marked on the roadway. Unfortunately, cyclists and eScooter riders are either unaware of or simply choose to ignore this and ride at speed a few inches from the front gardens putting residents at risk. Can signage be improved ie using 'cyclist dismount' signs to make it clearer? Or anything else you may suggest. Hounslow HIghways and Hounslow Council have advised Burlington Lane comes under the remit of Transport For London ( TFL )

  • The temporary traffic lights here are causing horrendous tailbacks along the A316 and backing up onto the A4!!!
