Traffic light not pointing in correct direction

Reported via desktop in the Damage - pole leaning / equipment detached from pole/facing the wrong direction category anonymously at 13:36, Tuesday 5 October 2021

Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS3043461.

A set of traffic lights on Tottenham Court Road outside Warren Street underground station, next to McDonalds Restaurant appears to be facing in the wrong direction, this leaves oncoming traffic unaware of change of colour of the lights to red. This could lead to major injury to pedestrians using the crossing. This issue has only been noticed/reported today 05/10 at 13:25pm to TfL customer relations desk by phone.

  • Thank you for taking the time to report this to us. It is much appreciated. This has now been investigated and we can confirm that there is a fault with these traffic lights. We have therefore passed this to our contractors and as it is classed as an emergency. It will be made safe within 24 hours.
