Traffic lights not working properly

The temporary traffic lights at the cross roads aren’t working properly, the timing seems to be wrong - it’s VERY DANGEROUS. I was stopped at the junction, first in the queue at the traffic lights, they turned green and I set off, but the traffic from the other direction started speeding through as well. It was a bit terrifying, fortunately I was paying attention and slammed on my brakes. It wasn’t a one-off as I then popped into Sainsbury’s on the corner and the same thing was happening when I came out.
