Olympic Park Avenue Traffic light to join Westfield Ave/Waterden Rd
Reported via desktop in the General Fault category anonymously at 14:58, Sat 6 November 2021
Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS3108019.
The traffic light on Olympic Park Avenue which is used to join Westfield Ave/Waterden Rd does not identify cyclists/motorbikes. This traffic light is the type that only changes when the sensor notices a vehicle.
The issue is that I drive a motorbike and it never notices me. I have to wait there (sometimes for 10 mins) until a car comes up behind me. At which point it changes within 60 seconds. It has been like this for over a year. I have tried waving at the sensor and also weaving on the road when approaching the junction. But nothing works and I need to wait for a car to appear behind me.
It is really quite frustrating and it would be great if the sensor could be fixed to also notice bike/motorbikes! I have never had this at any other sensor traffic lights so it feels like there is an issue with this particular one.
