Pedestrian crossing beeping very loud - causing disturbance

Reported via desktop in the General Fault category anonymously at 11:12, Mon 8 November 2021

Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS3110698.

Hello there!

I would like to report the beeping signal on this pedestrian crossing that is extremely loud. I live in one of the flat next to it and it causes disturbance all day long. I have double glazing that isolates quite well from the road noise, but this is inefficient with the beeping as it is too high-pitched.

Some pedestrians even said the signal was aggressive when standing next to it. I noticed many other crossings have a much more quiet beeping sound or none at all. Would it be possible to then turn it off or at least turn the volume down to the minimum?

This would be much appreciated! Many thanks :)
