The manhole cover on Commercial Road is rocking

There are two/three loose man hole covers that make a very loud noise every time a car passes over. As this is on busy Commercial Road, this is happening constantly, all night. One cover was “fixed” during the summer but the others continue to have the problem. It is incredibly disturbing in terms of noise pollution especially during the night. There is no break in traffic so there is no break on the constant noise. It seems this problem has been report before and marked as “fixed” but I assure you that it is not fixed. The noise at night is affecting my mental health.

If it is confirmed as a safety issue it will be made safe within two hours. If the manhole cover is owned by us, we will carry out a permanent repair at a later date. If it is owned by another company this will be passed to them for a permanent repair. This problem is continuing despite ‘temporary’ fixes. It is a constant, 24 hours a day, banging of manhole covers every time a vehicle passes over. Please can this be urgently escalated as it has been ongoing for months. The temporary fixes are not adequate at all - a permanent solution needs to be found. The noise affects sleep and mental health.
