Missing Street Sign
Reported via desktop in the Worn out road markings category anonymously at 17:50, Wed 8 December 2021
Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS3168108.
For many years there has been a street sign at the corner of Edensor Road and Chertsey Road indicating the end of shared use on Chertsey Road as it becomes Burlington Lane and instructing cyclists to use the cycle lanes rather than cycle on the pavement past houses 80 to 30 on Burlington Lane. The sign appears to have been removed or vandalised. Could it be replaced please?

This is of a concern to the local safer neighborhood policing team (SNT) as there is an ongoing problem of cyclists using the footpath rather then the cycle lane on this section of road. This poses a safety risk to residents of the road and general members of public. It is not a wide enough path to be shared and residents have often stepped out onto the pavement from their front gardens and nearly clashed with cyclists going past at speed. The transition from shared path to split path on either side of this section of road was always badly sign posted and now this sign has disappeared there is no direction given to cyclists at all. One sign at each end of houses 30 to 80 Burlington Lane would make all the difference. SNT officers have previously reported this to TFL and we have received no response.
