Wide cracks in tarmac on ramp leading up to the cycle/footbridge over the A406
Reported via desktop in the Pavement Defect (uneven surface / cracked paving slab) category anonymously at 09:45, Fri 14 January 2022
Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS3239798.
On the west side ramp of the foot/cycle bridge, which can be accessed from Wanstead Park Road, over the A406, there are substantial cracks in the tarmac, which require immediate repair. The ramp, heading west off the bridge, is quite steep and the cracks are getting wide enough for a racing/hybrid tyre to get stuck in, which could lead to a very serious accident. This section is part of cycleway/Quietway 6, and is very well used. It is also one of the few crossing points over the A406 that residents in Ilford have to get towards the River Roding/Roding Valley and Wanstead Park.
