Traffic light timings are wrong

Hi, I was told this issue was fixed but it is not as I went yesterday and nothing has changed. Caroline Pidgeon from the London Assembly reported this years ago and was told it was fixed but this was not the cace as well.
When I am driving on York Road from the hotel to Waterloo Road roundabout, I reach two sets of traffic lights at the end of york road.
One is a pedestrian crossing outside Waterloo Station on York Road and the other is a junction light for cars to go on the roundabout/on the bridge.
There is a big issue with timing that I have noticed and I think implementing the change I am suggesting would make it a lot safer for pedestrians and generally easier for cars.
What is in place currently:
1. There are always lots of pedestrians waiting to cross and the light takes a very long time at the pedestrian crossing to go green for pedestrians. 2. Whilst the pedestrian crossing light for drivers is green 90% of the time, the light for the junction is red 90% of the time.
What this means is that pedestrians have to cross on a red man all the time for no reason as the cars don't have anywhere to go.
What I propose:
- Both the pedestrian light and junction light are linked so that the pedestrian light is red for cars at all times to allow pedestrians to cross except 5 seconds before the junction light goes green to allow cars sufficient time to make the light.
One further thing is the timings seem to be done purposely so, just when the junction light goes green, the pedestrian light goes red so cars have to stop and it is very inefficient.
I would be really happy if these changes are made and would be happy to meet someone there to show them exactly what the issue is as I drive past basically 5 days a week and I experience the issue each time.
Thank you for taking the time to report this to us. It is much appreciated. You will be pleased to know that our routine inspections had already picked up this issue and it has been resolved. Our routine inspections had already picked up this issue and it has been resolved.
