Road closures causing extreme congestion.

Reported via desktop in the Roadworks category anonymously at 12:36, Thu 10 March 2022

Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS3377422.

TFL have the roads around Tower Hill closed for new cycle lanes. This has severely impacted traffic on Tower bridge in both directions. There was a fire near Aldgate last week and major roads are closed and on diversion. This has created indescribable congestion in the entire area. Is it possible for some of the roads on diversion for the cycle lane development to be temporarily re-opened while the main road in Aldgate is closed.? It is insane in this age to be sat in gridlock for hour upon hour when simple straight forward common sense could be applied to alleviate the gridlock. The mayor for London repeatedly talks about pollution levels being too high. Preventing essential traffic from moving due to a lack of foresight creates pollution. Please take action now.
