Several Potholes along the most inside lane of road causing relentless vibrations to a block of flat from buses and heavy vehicles on a busy stretch of A23
Sent to TfL 5 minutes later. TfL ref: FMS3457089.
I have yesterday received a notification from Streetcare tfl advising that the potholes have been fixed - Ref FMS3363787.
However they have not as can been seen from the photos attached taken 10 minutes ago today (Wednesday 13.04.2022).
The vibrations have become more frequent due to increased traffic with life returning to normal. The area of broken road surface have widened and deepened so much that there are now two jolts from each passing speeding bus/heavy vehicles and at times so violent that there are sounds coming from the wall and ceiling structure that are of great concern to those of us living in the block that is located at the corner of 1E Wyatt Park Road with one side facing Streatham Hill Road and with only the width of the pavement separating our building from the potholes hence the strong vibrations are keenly felt.
I implore you to please arrange for the repairs of these potholes as soon as possible.

I believe this road defect is incorrectly classified as "minor". As seen in the pictures, it covers 1.5 lanes and causes significant impact which can be felt in the adjacent building several meters away as detailed in the above report. Previous fixes have not been long-term fixes. Please prioritise fixing this!

If the defect is confirmed as a safety issue, it will be made safe within 24 hours. The highway team arrived at 9:30pm last night attending to repair the smallest pothole that was outside a doctor's surgery at 41 Streatham Hill Road/A23. So to ensure that the other potholes especially the biggest one would not be ignored, I went down to speak with the engineers and was told they were only instructed to do the smallest one. I proceeded to show them the largest pothole, the size of which covers more than one lane and is located directly outside a kitchen design shop at 43 Streatham Hill Road. Upon seeing the size of the large pothole, the highway engineer remarked that is going to be a big job of which they have not been authorized to repair. However he would take a photo to take back to the office as he concurred with my reporting to TFL of the strong vibrations that are caused by the continuous impact from the speeding buses and heavy vehicles over that large pothole. I am re-attaching a photos of the large pothole as described above as well as another smaller one that is at the turning to Wyatt Park Road which is also another source of the strong vibrations from passing vehicles.
I would be most grateful if these potholes can be repaired as soon as possible for the continuous jolts to my flat/the whole building is very distressing causing me great anxiety over the affect the vibrations are having to the building structure and mental well-being from the vibrations. The vibrations of late has become so strong that a creaking sound from the ceiling/wall in my property can now be heard when buses go over the pothole in high speed and as the affected pothole is on a stretch of the A23 that forms part of 8 bus routes between Telford Avenue bus stop and Streatham Hill Station bus stop (57, 109, 133, 201, 250, 319, 333, 417); I cannot stress deeper of my concern of the effect the relentless vibrations are having to the structure of my building and all those living in it.

Hello, is there any update from your Highway Team of when these potholes will be fixed please ? The daily continuous vibrations are no longer a nuisance but seriously causing an impact on one's mental health for the fear of the potential damage to our building structure.

I am at the end of my tether as the vibrations are so strong now that the doors on my balcony are shaking whenever a bus speeds by over the pothole. It is a very scary feeling and I would be glad for your highway team to come by to my property and experience it for themselves.
Could you please provide an update on when the pothole will be repaired for good please ?

To my joy the TFL highway team arrived to repair the pothole at 09:20am this morning and it was with much anticipation that our building will no longer be plagued with the vibrations from passing buses. However, it is with great disappointment that the vibrations are still being felt because only a small part of the pothole has been patched and there's still cracks everywhere on the part of the road/lanes where the wheels of the buses go over ie. near the curb and just on the inside of the white line of the lane that is used by buses. Please see attached photo. We urgently need to have the cracks that have not been repaired today to be patched ASAP too please.
