Bridge is closed due to damage - implication for Middlesex University
Reported via desktop in the Pavement Defect (uneven surface / cracked paving slab) category anonymously at 16:59, Wed 27 April 2022
Sent to TfL less than a minute later. TfL ref: FMS3487184.
The footbridge at the location marked is closed because of damage by a lorry. Pedestrians and cyclists have to undertake a 500m diversion via an unpleasent subway. I appreciate replacing a bridge is not a quick process but is there a timescale yet for this work to be done? The footbridge is the main walking route between Middlesex University Hendon and Copthall Stadium campuses. More teaching is moving to Copthall in the autumn thanks to a new stand at the stadium containing teaching labs for nurses and sport science so this route will then be busier, assuming it has reopened. Is there any news I can share to colleages at Middlesex Uni about this damage and the timescale for repair? Best wishes Adam Edwards

This footbridge is closed due to health and safety conditions. Our contractor carried out the inspection and advised us what needs to be done. This may take several weeks to do the repair works and we diverted pedestrians to use the nearest subway.
State changed to: No further action
